No one hurt in Vermont house fire thanks to alarm
NEW HAVEN, Vt. (AP) — Fire officials in a small town in Vermont say no one was hurt in a house fire in which an alarm alerted a resident to get out of the house.
WCAX-TV reports the fire took place in New Haven in the early morning hours of Sunday. Crews from Middlebury and Bristol also assisted with the response. Fire officials say the fire started in a wall of the house, and they were able to contain the damage.
Fire officials say the owner of the home was awakened by smoke detectors and was able to get out of the house in time to emerge unhurt.
