Flood warning extended for St. Marys near Decatur
The flood warning has been extended for the St. Marys River near Decatur, the National Weather Service said.
At 9 p.m. Sunday, the weather service said, the stage was 19.5 feet and rising; flood stage is 17 feet. It said the river is expected to crest near 20.8 feet around 2 a.m. Tuesday and fall below flood stage around 2 p.m. Wednesday.
At 20.5 feet, Indiana 101 north of Pleasant Mills is closed by floodwater, and extensive agricultural flooding is in progress, the weather service said.
It said this crest compares to a crest of 21.2 feet in June 2015.
