Where to get Thanksgiving dinner to go in Houston

If you prefer ordering your holiday meal or augmenting your dinner table with prepared turkeys, side dishes and desserts, here are some Houston restaurants and bakeries willing to lend you a helping hand — if not the entire meal — this Thanksgiving.

Feges BBQ: The barbecue joint will offer a full to-go menu that includes whole briskets ($130), 3.5-pound turkey breast ($50) and a variety of sides available in half pan ($30) or full pan ($60) that include loaded potato salad, braised collard greens, Moroccan spiced carrots, mashed sweet potato and banana, macaroni and cheese, and cornbread stuffing. Three Brothers Bakery: A wide variety of pies including pumpkin ($18.95) and pecan ($22.95) are available as well as pumpkin cheesecake ($49.95) and deep dish pecan pie ($69.95) at 4036 S. Agricole Hospitality: The restaurant group that now includes seven restaurants is offering a full menu of staples — whole turkey, glazed ham, whole duck, duck breast and side dishes such as stuffing, green bean casserole, roasted Brussels sprouts and pies. Urban Eats: The restaurant, 3414 Washington, is specializing in sides: pork and white truffle macaroni and cheese, French onion macaroni and cheese, potato and fennel gratin, bacon and onion braised Brussels sprouts, skillet seared cauliflower, collard greens smashed potatoes and roasted root vegetables (all $9 per pound). Frank’s Americana Revival: The River Oaks restaurant has a full menu that includes main dishes such as turkey breast ($70 serves 6-8) and bone-in spiral ham ($95 serves 8-10), as well as side dishes ($60 for half pan, $95 for full pan), breads and desserts like cranberry walnut bread pudding ($60 for half pan). Corkscrew BBQ: Spring’s famous barbecue joint is taking Thanksgiving pre-orders through Nov. 14 with pick up 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 20-21 at 26608 Keith. Whole meat options include Prime black angus smoked brisket ($20 per pound for 6-8 pound briskets), smoked turkey breast ($20 per pound for 3-4 pound breast); pork butt ($16 per pound for 4-6 pounds) and beef ribs ($18.50 per pound for 4-5 pound rack). Underbelly Hospitality: Chef Chris Shepherd’s restaurant group is offering house-smoked and brined turkey breast ($40) and Day-After Thanksgiving Gumbo ($50); sides from the new Georgia James steakhouse (sweet potato and cheddar gratin, cornbread custard and bacon sausage creamed grits, each $35); cranberry sauce, rolls and pies, including apple, pumpkin brownie-bottom, pecan, and vinegar. Beaver’s: A full menu of essentials is available, including whole smoked turkey ($79), sliced brisket ($22 per pound); side dishes including Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, green beans, candied yams, roasted vegetables, dirty rice and salads ($40 to $60 in half pans that serve up to 20); and peach or berry cobbler in two sizes ($80 and $160). Ooh La La Dessert Boutique: Pastry chef Vanessa O’Donnell’s three bakery locations have holiday pies (pumpkin, pecan, apple, sugar-free apple, lemon meringue, key lime) available for $22.95 as well as pumpkin cheesecake ($58.95), bourbon pecan pie cupcakes, cinnamon sweet potato macarons, pumpkin cheesecake macarons, pumpkin rolls and pumpkin pie cookies. Junior League of Houston: Orders will be accepted through Nov. 15 for Thanksgiving dinners. A complete meal serving 10 to 12 is $250; a la carte items also available including a 22-pound roasted turkey ($75); bacon, sour cream and corn casserole ($30); cheesy broccoli rice casserole ($30), and more, including pies. Dish Society: Side dishes — balsamic bacon Brussels sprouts, truffled mac and cheese, roasted vegetables, mashed sweet potatoes, smoked gouda grits and citrus quinoa — come in two sizes ($24-$40 for seven servings; $48-$80 for 14 servings). The Pit Room: One of Houston’s top barbecue joints is offering smoked turkey ($85, about 13 pounds) and brisket ($100 for 6-8 pounds) as well as sides such as mustard potato salad, cole slaw, charro beans, elote, mac and cheese, chicharrones and jalapeño vinegar potato chips ($6.50 pint, $11.25 quart, $40 gallon). Caracol: Chef Hugo Ortega is offering a family feast that feeds 6-8 for $225, including pineapple and habanero whole spiral ham, roasted sweet potatoes, jalapeño cornbread, charred Brussels sprouts, roasted potatoes with rajas, sweet cranberry and spicy jalapeño relish, tortilla casserole and a choice of desserts. All those side dishes and more, including Mexican desserts such as capirotada are available, too (priced between $15 and $60). Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen: The Jewish deli, 2327 Post Oak, offers to-go meals ($275, feeds 10-12) that include a whole turkey, wild mushroom and chestnut stuffing, traditional sides and a mile-high apple pie. A la carte dishes: mini potato knishes, pigs in a blanket, cream cheese-stuffed dates wrapped in pastrami, mini smoked fish croquettes and smoked salmon-wrapped asparagus ($12-$25 per dozen). Tony Mandola’s Gulf Coast Kitchen: The Thanksgiving feast for 6-8 includes Cajun fried turkey or roast turkey with a choice of three sides and one dessert for $148. A la carte also available: turkey, $64.99; sides, $16.99; desserts, $31.99; cornbread dressing, $14.99; brown gravy, $9.50 and full pan of meat lasagna, $72. The Dunlavy: The restaurant in Buffalo Bayou Park, 3422 Allen Pkwy., offers full dinner for $185 (serves 8-10) that includes Whitehurst Heritage Farm turkey with traditional sides. A la carte options: roasted turkey ($100), and side dishes that serve 6 including cornbread dressing ($20), wild Texas mushrooms and green bean casserole ($20), challah bread herb stuffing ($18), Texas autumn salad ($28); and pies (Texas bourbon pecan, pumpkin, double-crust apple, $24 each). Laurenzo’s: The restaurant has created two meal packages featuring prime rib with house-made au jus, horseradish sauce, and sides choices that include creamed corn, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and buttered peas. Jonathan’s The Rub: The original location at 9061 Gaylord will offer a takeout menu that includes 48-hour brined then fried turkey ($85 for 12-14 pounds) and side dishes in quarts ($15, feeds 2-3), half pans ($45, feeds 12-15) and full pans ($80, feeds 24-28), including cornbread stuffing, green bean casserole, candied yams and mashed potatoes.
