Two confirmed cases of West Nile Virus this season
There have been two confirmed cases of West Nile Virus in Connecticut this season, one of which is a Fairfield resident, the Connecticut Department of Public Health said on Friday.
Both patients are between 60 and 79 years of age became sick with encephalitis around the last week of July and were hospitalized. They are recovering, but one is still in the hospital. Neither patient traveled out of state before becoming sick.
The second patient is a resident of Newington, the Department of Public Health said.
