Steve Rosenfeld Named Deputy Business Editor

NEW YORK (AP) _ Steve Rosenfeld, assistant business editor for The Associated Press since 1994, has been named deputy business editor of the news cooperative.

The appointment was announced Thursday by Business Editor Rick Gladstone.

Rosenfeld, 49, joined the AP in 1972 and has specialized in business writing for 16 years. His most recent duties included coordination of a joint venture to add Dow Jones copy to AP’s financial wire.

He succeeds Gladstone as deputy.

Rosenfeld worked for the AP in Helena, Mont.; Albany, N.Y.; Augusta, Maine, and Cleveland before joining the Business News department in 1980. From 1986 to 1994 he covered agricultural and business stories for the AP in Des Moines.

A graduate of Hofstra University, Rosenfeld previously worked for the Long Island Network and the Long Island (N.Y.) Commercial Review. He also worked in the Army’s public affairs department.
