Student Nurses Association hosts chili cook-off fundraiser

Western Nebraska Student Nurses Association held a chili cook-off fundraiser held on Dec. 14 at Classic Lanes in Gering. The association raised $600. which they presented to Regional West Hospice on Dec. 19th. There were prizes donated by the community to help this event to become successful.

Winners of prizes at the event were: Wayne Lund, Baby blanket, and footprints sign; Lonnie Strodtman, Christmas sign; Karen Salinas, Husker blockers and watering hole gift cert; Rhonda Lemaitre, SHS blocks, air fryer and Classic lanes free bowling games; Stephanie Miller, scrubs; Nikki Juzenas, Victoria Secret gift bag; Kendra Lemaitre, watering hole gift cert; Wes Mortimore, Mixing Bowl gift card and Michael Kor purse; Bob Wells Bianco & Co cut and color and Carpenter Center Tumbling party; Damian Torres, Handsome Devil Tattoo; Shane Desha, Hover Board.

The cook off winners were Mariah Johns, 1st; Talia Strodtman, 2nd; and Liz Lund 3rd.

Donations were given by Classic Lanes, Carpenter Center Tumbling, Bianco and Company, Mixing Bowl, Watering Hole, Varieties LLC, Handsome Devil Tattoo, Myles and Candee Staman Ranch, Yost Family, Johns Family, Cunningham Family and Strodtman Family.

Student Nurses association Members are Talia Strodtman, Mariah Johns, Candee Staman, Nichole Campbell, Liz Lund, Brittany Farro, Rikki Harden, Kristen Schultz, America Parra, Susana Lopez, Tonya Seeley, Stefanie Fritschie, Casey Shaw and Kassidy Jenkins. The adviser is Kathy Yost.

The association thanked all of its sponsors and the community for coming out to support the organization and the local hospice.
