Police investigate fatal shooting in Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Police in Bridgeport are investigating the city’s ninth homicide of the year.
Capt. Brian Fitzgerald says a 30-year-old man was shot in the neck and torso at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The victim was found unresponsive at the scene and was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
His name was not immediately made public pending notification of family.
Fitzgerald said the shooting was “not a random act of violence” and investigators believe the victim was targeted.
