Floyd F. Dorn, 87, of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 28, at Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Dustin Yahnke officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to the church or Rainbow Hospice. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Floyd Franklin Dorn was born on Nov. 24, 1931, to Herman and Viola (nee Winkelman) Dorn in Ixonia. On June 7, 1953, Floyd married the former Violet Teuteberg at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Concord. Floyd served faithfully in the United States Navy. He worked at the family dairy farm in Ixonia until his retirement. Floyd was known for helping other farmers in the area and was always the first to plant his oats. He enjoyed veggies from his garden, red tractors and his favorite farm dog, Ginger. On Thursdays, Floyd liked to watch back-to-back episodes of “Around the Corner with John McGivern,” followed by “This Old House.” Floyd also enjoyed playing cards, men’s bowling league and tending to his beautiful lawn and hummingbird feeders in the spring.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Violet Dorn of Watertown; siblings, Elroy (Janet) Dorn of Jefferson, Leon (Shirley) Dorn of Rome, Margaret Jaeger of Queen Creek, Arizona, Ruth Ann Christian of Oconomowoc; sister-in-law, Sue Teuteberg of Pewaukee; special nephew, Keith Christian; special friends, Dean and Peggy Olson and their sons, Trevor and Nicholas Olson of Watertown, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Harvey (Mildred) Dorn, Donald (Joyce) Dorn, Mabel (Wes) Lees, Dorothy (Earl) Sukow, Donna Mae Dorn; brothers-in-law, Albert Jaeger, Ralph Christian.

The family would like to thank the staff at Watertown Regional Medical Center Senior Behavioral Health Unit and to Rainbow Hospice for their exceptional care.
