For accused Ohio thief, Cleveland Browns lighters a hot item

DAYTON, Ohio — It’s apparently only taken one win this season to make Cleveland Browns merchandise smoking hot around the state and too much to resist for one accused thief.

The Dayton Daily News reports a man has been arrested after he stuffed a box of 50 Browns lighters under his sweat shirt in a gas station in Dayton.

A police officer in the Love’s Travel Center saw Dudley Colquitt, 51, attempt to take the lighters and followed him outside the store, catching Colquitt by surprise, according to the Daily News.

Colquitt returned the lighters, valued at $2.29 each, but was arrested.

Charges against Colquitt are pending, the Daily News reports.
