CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Team New England opened the National Golden Gloves Tournament by going a perfect 4-for-4 Monday.
Felix Parrilla of New Haven, Conn., won at 123 pounds with an unanimous decison over Elon DeJesus of New York City. Parrilla was a national finalist last year.
At 141 pounds, Alejandro Paulino of New London, Conn., defeated Stanley Ortolan from Detroit. Ortolan retired one second into the second round.
Francis Hogan of Weymouth won via an unanimous decision at 165 poinds over Alejandro Wagner of Southgate, Mich.
At heavyweight, Demek Edmonds of Worcester scored a second-round knockout at 1:52 of the second round. Edmonds defeated Avian Harris of Wichita, Kan.
