Water main break prompts boil order in St. Louis County
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Swathes of St. Louis County are under a boil order — including parts of St. Ann, Overland and Breckenridge Hills — after a large water main break.
Television station KSKD reports that by Saturday afternoon, 15,000 Missouri American Water customers had been affected by the water main break.
The utility says customers in the affected areas should boil tap water for three minutes before using to drink, brush teeth or in food preparation.
Missouri American Water said Saturday afternoon that it should take around 48 hours to restore the water service once the main is repaired.
