Tony-award winning actress injured; daughter killed in wreck
NEW YORK (AP) — Authorities say the 4-year-old daughter of a Tony-award winning actress was killed along with a 1-year-old friend when a driver slammed into them on a Brooklyn street.
Ruthie Ann Blumenstein, who goes by the stage name Ruthie Ann Miles, was also injured in the Monday accident.
Police say she was walking with a friend who had the infant in a stroller when the driver went through a red light and hit them.
Blumenstein’s daughter Abigail was killed. Police say 1-year-old Joshua Lew was also killed.
Blumenstein won a Tony in 2015 for her role as Lady Thiang in a revival of “The King and I.” Her agent had no comment.
The driver hasn’t been charged.
