Girl dies after being found in car ablaze in New York City
NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a child is dead after being found in a burning car in New York City, and a man is in custody.
Authorities were called around 9 p.m. Sunday to a car fire at the intersection of Baisley and Rockaway boulevards. It’s in the Springfield Gardens section of Queens.
Police say a girl was found in the car in critical condition. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Her age and name haven’t yet been released.
Officers also found a man nearby with injuries from burns. He’s been taken into custody. No charges have been filed thus far.
