Fleeting Image Wins Irish O’Brien

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) _ Fleeting Image, a 6-year-old who had been winless since the first running of the Irish O’Brien Stakes last year, won the race again Wednesday.

Ridden by David Flores and carrying 116 pounds, Fleeting Image won in 1:15 2-5, defeating favored Supercilious by 1 1/4 lengths.

Fleeting Image, who had raced seven times between her Irish O’Brien victories, paid $13.40, $5.40 and $4.20. The win was the sixth in 20 lifetime starts and was worth $64,380.

Supercilious crossed the finish line a nose in front of Pert Laura and returned $3.20 and $2.60.

Pert Laura, a 28-1 longshot, paid $6.60 to show.
