Argument Over Washcloth Leads To Death, Police Say
DECATUR, Mich. (AP) _ A man was fatally stabbed with a sword, allegedly by his 14-year-old uncle, during a dispute that began over possession of a washcloth, police said.
Antonio D. Brown, 24, was pronounced dead Sunday at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, where he was flown by helicopter from Hamilton Township, state police said.
An open charge of murder was authorized today against the 14-year-old by the Van Buren County prosecutor’s office.
State Police Sgt. William Burk said the argument started in the bathroom over possession of a wash cloth and continued into the living room. Brown was stabbed, he said, went outside and fell to the ground.
Burk said the 14-year-old is Brown’s uncle, and Brown had moved into the home about a week ago.
