Forty Fort Lions Present McCullough Award
The Forty Fort Lions Club recently presented the annual James J. McCullough Award. Each year, a $1,000 scholarship is awarded to an outstanding area high school student. Due to the generosity of the community during the Lions Club Five Mile Race recently held on Memorial Day, the club was able to increase this award to $2,000. This award has been in existence for 42 years. The award is in memory of James J. McCullough, former mayor of Forty Fort in 1973 and a member of the Forty Fort Lions Club. This year, the award was presented to Wyoming Seminary graduate Julia Gabriel. She plans to attend Lebanon Valley College and pursue a degree in psychology. At the presentation, from left, are Matt Kelly, chairman; Jerry Novak, chairman; Dr. Theresa Baseski, Julia Gabriel, award recipient; Francine Gabriel, and Thomas O’Connor, chairman.
