3 Workers Killed at Ariz. Pizza Hut
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) _ Three Pizza Hut employees were shot to death, apparently as they prepared to close up the restaurant for the night.
Manager Robert Curry, 44, and kitchen worker James Bloxham, 17, were found dead late Sunday, and waitress Melissa L. Monitz, 20, died later at a hospital, said Sgt. Brett Klein, a police spokesman.
Ms. Moniz’s boyfriend, whose name was not released, discovered the slayings when he came to take Ms. Moniz home from work, police said.
He had waited in the parking lot for a few minutes, becoming concerned when he saw no movement inside the restaurant. He looked through a window, saw the victims on the floor and called police from a nearby convenience store, authorities said.
The man, crying and shaking, described the killings as ``bloody″ and ``horrible,″ the Tucson Citizen reported.
Detectives have numerous leads to check out, but no suspects, and have not focused on any one person or group yet, Klein said.
``We haven’t ruled out any possible motives, including robbery,″ he said.
The restaurant was not ransacked and the victims were not tied up, Klein said. They appeared to have been closing for the night, he said. Detectives had not determined whether anything was missing.
