June 30, 2000

NEW ORLEANS (AP) _ The New Orleans Saints signed NFL Europe running back Michael Blair and rookie free agent kicker Shayne Graham and agreed to terms with quarterback Pat Barnes on Friday.

Barnes completed 138 passes in 250 attempts for 1.954 yards and 18 touchdowns with NFL’s Europe’s Frankfurt Galaxy. He spent the 1999 NFL season with the San Francisco 49ers, designated mostly as the third quarterback. In the spring of 1999, he led Frankfurt to the World Bowl.

Blair was originally signed as a free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs in April 1997 and also spent time with the Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns. He spent this spring with Frankfurt and rushed for 329 yards and one touchdown on 87 carries

Graham is the all-time leading scorer in the Big East Conference and Virginia Tech history with 371 points. He became just the second player ever to earn first-team All Big East honors four consecutive seasons and was voted the Big East Special Teams Player of the Year in 1999.
