Baker Trip Set for Next Month
WASHINGTON (AP) _ Treasury Secretary James Baker is scheduled to travel to Saudi Arabia in early February for a meeting with top government leaders in that country, Treasury Department officials said Tuesday.
Baker and Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Abalkhail will lead the 10th session of the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation. The commission was established in June 1974 to promote industrialization, manpower training, agriculture and technology.
The commission meetings, scheduled for Feb. 3 and 4 in Riyadh, will review progress of 23 commission projects covering transportation, supply management, customs operations and vocational training.
