CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) _ Coe Bonner rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns as Southern Illinois beat Winston-Salem 48-18 Saturday.

Winston-Salem (1-3), an NCAA Div. II school, scored first on a 10-yard keeper by Travis Pender.

But the Salukis (3-1), a IAA team, scored twice before the first quarter ended. Phil Shellhaas scored on a 1-yard keeper, then found Cornell Craig for a 5-yard TD pass.

Southern Illinois outscored the Rams 17-0 in the third quarter to gain a 31-6 lead.

But Winston-Salem had the most exciting play of the game, a 53-yard interception return for a TD by Daryl Wilson in the final quarter.

The Salukis had 400 yards in total offense. Winston-Salem had 241.

Shellhaas also scored twice and was 7-of-12 for 113 yards passing.

Eric Hendley led the Rams with 100 yards on 10 carries.
