Man faces charges after nearly 9-hour standoff
SUNAPEE, N.H. (AP) — A 25-year-old man is facing charges after a nearly nine-hour armed standoff in Sunapee.
Police were called to a home around 3 a.m. Saturday for a report of an intoxicated man armed with a handgun.
WMUR-TV reports that police say the man then went into a barn and fired a shot into the ground.
State police deployed a non-lethal gas into the barn. The man then surrendered. No one else was in the barn.
He’s facing a charge of felony reckless conduct.
