Kelsey-Seybold breaks ground on replacement site for Kingwood Clinic

January 10, 2019

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic broke ground on a new 5.5 acre clinic just north of the intersection of Hwy. 59 and Northpark Drive on Jan. 10.

The new facility will replace the hospital system’s Kingwood Clinic, which flooded during Huricane Harvey. The three-story Kingwood Clinic will be located at 25553 Hwy. 59 in Porter and will serve the Kingwood, Porter, and New Caney areas.

The multispecialty clinic will be 55,000 square feet, which is nearly three times the size of its 20,000 square feet previous location.

“The Kingwood area continues to demonstrate its strength and resilience following the devastation left by Hurricane Harvey, and the progress made over the last year is truly amazing,” Kelsey-Seybold Clinic-Kingwood managing physician Sebastian Scobercea said in a November statement. “We’re proud to be part of this community and look forward to welcoming our patients back to our new, and expanded, clinic in 2020.”

Kingwood patients can continue to visit Summer Creek Clinic at 8233 N. Sam Houston Parkway East in Humble until the new clinic opens.

Kirksey Architecture designed the clinic, which will contain nearly 55,000 square feet. Gamma Construction is handling construction.

Founded in 1949, Kelsey-Seybold has 19 locations in the Houston area.
