Officials: Boil advisory may be lifted Monday

February 23, 2018

DANBY, Vt. (AP) — Vermont officials say a boil-water order for customers in a small water system where E.coli was found probably won’t be lifted until Monday.

The Rutland Herald reports Ellen Parr Doering, deputy division director for community water systems for the Agency of Natural Resources, said Thursday the state was still waiting for E.coli test results for the system serving Dany and Mount Tabor. Users of the water system have had to boil their water since Feb. 2.

Doering says system customers will have to adhere to the boil order until all of the three water samples show no E.coli contamination.

The system serves 146 customers and is sourced from the Carlie Spring. It’s currently being treated with the district’s backup chlorination system.
