Thieves Steal Money from Lightning
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Between $2,500 and $5,000 was reportedly stolen from the lockerroom of the Tampa Bay Lightning during Monday night’s game with the Hartford Whalers.
Lightning players returned after a 6-3 loss to find their money had been taken although other valuables remained intact.
``I can’t believe this kind of thing can happen,″ center John Cullen said. ``Somebody said they saw someone, but nobody knows.
``All we do know is that 15 guys got ripped off. I lost $500. So did Brian Bradley.″
Police did not have any suspects, but were reviewing videotape of a surveillence camera pointed at the door of the lockerroom.
``There is nothing to say at this time,″ said Davin Olsen, operations head at the Hartford Civic Center. ``We are still sorting everything out.″
