Tewksbury Edges Chelmsford on Links

The Tewksbury High golf team edged Merrimack Valley Conference rival Chelmsford, 10.5-9.5, during a meeting at Chelmsford Country Club.

Also victorious on the links were Lowell, Nashoba Tech and Lowell Catholic.

The Redmen improved to 2-1 on the season, while the Lions fell to 1-2.

Individual winners for Tewksbury were John Beatrice and Garrett Kingston. Four ball winners were the teams of Michael Polimeno and Ben Froment, as well as Anthony Pecci and Beatrice.

For Chelmsford, Griffin Green and Tommy Hopkins were individual winners, while the four ball winners were Thomas Slattery and Cole Lawlor.

Winning their individual matches for Lowell were Trevor Green, Owen Goulette, Ben Asselin, Patrick Cote, Brock Pare, Keegan Cote, Thomas Carolan, Nick Mandeville and Dulan Kuczek.

The Broncos split at Green Meadow GC, defeating Merrimack but falling to Concord.

Alvirne (7-8) was led by Jackie Dowd, who won medalist honors with a 37. Tyler Lizotte, Ryan Santos and Michael Dowling all shot a 39. Brett McKinley added a 42.

In a match played at the Chelmsford Country Club, Nashoba Tech improved to 2-1 on the season behind the play of top scorer Dylan Pueschel, who scored 20 points.

Played at Newton Commons Golf Course, LC improved to 4-0 behind the play of Tim Picard (36 points), Nate Sayer (28 points) and Joe Infantino (24 points).
