Mass. police car struck at road construction site
HAVERHILL, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts police say a state police sergeant parked in his cruiser to protect a road construction crew has been struck by another car on Interstate 495 north of Boston.
Police said Monday night the driver of the other car is believed to have had a medical issue. Both were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Police said the state police sergeant is expected to be released from the hospital late Monday night.
The driver of the car suffered minor injuries.
The crash occurred at about 8:20 p.m. on the northbound side of the interstate south of Exit 51, Route 125.
State police are investigating.
