Art Alive Ministries with Vincent Tharpe coming to First Baptist in Florence

August 4, 2018

FLORENCE, S.C. – First Baptist Church in downtown Florence will host Art Alive Ministries with Vincent Tharpe at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19.

Art Alive Ministries Inc. was founded in 1985 by Vincent and Brenda Tharpe with a desire to use music and art to spread the gospel. The ministry crosses over denominational, racial and language barriers.

Each program has a unique sound track and visual effects, designed to capture the attention of all observers while instilling Biblical truths. Most programs are presented on a 12-foot easel with chalk and use the effects of black lights.

During the 22 years of ministry the Tharpes have traveled over 600,000 miles in 10 countries and presented programs to more than 550,000 people. They have conducted 11 international crusades in Russia, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Jamaica and Africa.

“The very name of the astounding ministry of Vincent and Brenda Tharpe, Art Alive Ministry, truly is self-descriptive!” said Wayne Brown, the interim pastor at First Baptist Florence. “Through art, Vince makes the biblical stories and the Gospel of Jesus Christ come alive! To watch Vince transform a blank sheet of paper into a masterful work of art which tells the story of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is fascinating, and it is actually a worship experience.

“You will be inspired, blessed and mesmerized by what you witness. We look forward to many from the community joining us for this amazing event. The event is free and open to the public. A ‘love offering’ will be accepted for this ministry.”
