PHOENIX (AP) _ Ramon Martinez pitched a two-hitter as the Los Angeles Dodgers got another strong pitching performance in beating the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-1 Saturday night.
Martinez (6-2) struck out six and walked none in his first complete game this season, the 37th of his career.
Andy Fox led off the first inning with a single and Brent Brede homered leading off the ninth, the first run scored by the Diamondbacks in 19 innings.
Los Angeles, which got a six-hit shutout from Darren Dreifort in Friday night’s 5-0 win, hadn’t allowed a run in 20 innings.
Before a record crowd of 48,369 at Bank One Ballpark, Raul Mondesi drove in three runs with a homer and a single, and Todd Hollandsworth had a two-run double.
