Road work resumes: Street paving to be completed
Many residents have wondered why road construction in neighborhoods north of Pere Marquette Street in Ludington has taken the whole summer to complete, and, while it’s not finished yet, a lot of the work might finally be completed soon.
Workers have been replacing the water and sewer main and also repaving Resseguie Street from Washington Avenue to Lavinia Street, Lavinia Street from Resseguie to Pere Marquette streets and Pere Marquette Street from Lavinia to James streets, said Department of Public Works Superintendent Joe Stickney.
The first construction started the last week of March.
“That’s a long time,” Stickney said. “Everybody’s had enough, including myself. The homeowners are at their wit’s end, and I don’t blame them. We’ve all had enough of this construction season.”
