Letter: Mannis responsive
To the editor,
I have been teaching at Westover School for 17 years and the current mold problem has displaced my students and me from my classroom.
Parents and staff are rightfully concerned about the mold infiltration.
I write to highlight the incredible responsiveness and leadership that David Mannis has provided. When I realized that the mold problem was affecting our ability to teach and was not subsiding, I called Mr. Mannis at his home.
In addition to taking my call and carefully listening to my observations, he immediately escalated the problem by holding an emergency board meeting and holding people accountable for the remediation and finding a permanent solution. Parents and staff are lucky to have Mr. Mannis serving as the Board of Education president.
He is showing leadership and concern in trying to solve a very difficult and pervasive problem.
