Christmas in the 1800s benefits Diann Shaddox Foundation

December 7, 2018

The Aiken Municipal Building transported visitors back in time recently during Christmas in the 1800s.

A crowd was on hand Nov. 29, many dressed in 19th century attire, to enjoy food, Christmas music and a show performed by author, storyteller and living historian Kim Poovey.

Christmas in the 1800s is an annual fundraiser benefitting the Diann Shaddox Foundation for Essential Tremor. The foundation seeks to bring awareness and find a cure for essential tremors, a progressive neurological condition that causes a rhythmic trembling of the hands, head, voice, legs or trunk.
