Teays Physical Therapy Center Inc. and the Putnam Herald are pleased to present this week’s female Gamer of the Week to Senior Kylie Williams of St. Albans High School.

The Red Dragons Volleyball team has had a great season thus far, sitting at 18-5-1. This past weekend the Dragons picked up a big win over rival George Washington. A standout player that has been a great new edition to the team this year is senior transfer, Kylie Williams. Playing volleyball for many years, Kylie has experience that has made her a great contributor to the team.

Kylie is very happy with the season, stating, “Every day, we get better. Every time we practice and every time we play, we learn and just keep improving.”

Kylie’s goals for the season are to personally reach over 1,000 digs and for her team to win the state championship. When asked about what inspires and motivates her, Kylie responded, “My dad really inspires me, he had such success playing college baseball and I want to follow in his footsteps.”

Kylie also noted her coaches Rex and Robin Eggleton are huge motivators as they always push her to excel both on and off the court. Kylie currently has a 3.8 GPA and wants to play volleyball in college and major in criminal justice. She isn’t quite sure where she wants to attend college, but she’s looking at Glenville State College, West Virginia State University, and West Virginia Tech. Wherever she chooses to go, Kylie is excited to be an asset to the team. The coaching staff for the Red Dragons volleyball team raved about Kylie, stating, “She is a great addition to the team and really helps solidify our defense in the back row. We wouldn’t be 18-5-1 without her.” The coaching pair took over the volleyball team three seasons ago and took the team to the state tournament their second season. It was the

first time in the history of SAHS to make an appearance at the state tournament. The coaches believe this team has the ability to achieve big things this season.
