Brothers arrested for stealing $2,500 in electronics
WAYNE — Multiple stolen electronics were recovered and two New York men are behind bars after being arrested during a traffic stop in Wayne County last week, according to investigators.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department Drug Enforcement Unit pulled a rental vehicle over Wednesday night and discovered that brothers Mikheil Rizhamdze and Vasil Rijamadze, from Brooklyn, New York, but previously lived in the Republic of Georgia had the stolen merchandise. They are each charged with petit larceny and conspiracy. More charges are likely, according to investigators. Though the two men’s names are spelled differently, deputies confirmed that the men are brothers, but their last names are spelled differently on their New York licenses.
The suspects had two Apple TV 4Ks on them that were stolen from the Walmart in Wayne. When deputies searched the vehicle, they found five more Apple TV 4Ks, eight Windows Home installs and other unopened items that are believed to be stolen.
The stolen goods all added up to approximately $2,500 MSRP.
In addition to finding electronics, investigators found a shoulder bag lined with thick foil. Deputies believe the brothers used the bag to get the items out of the stores without setting off the security alarms.
Road patrol deputies assisted.
