Sewer work continues to close lanes
Third Avenue traffic near the city-county Government Center and across the nearby Zumbro River bridge will be reduced to a single lane in each direction starting Tuesday.
As part of the First Avenue Southeast sewer project, work is planned at the northeast corner of the Government Center, as well as the sidewalk over the bridge. The building’s main doors are expected to be open during business hours, but pedestrians may need to find alternate routes to access them.
The work is expected to last until December.
The sewer project has already closed a block of First Avenue Southeast, from First Street to Second Street, and lanes of First Street in front of the Rochester Public Library. Other changes have been made to parking access throughout the area.
