Little River Band brings 40 years of hits to the Fox

January 11, 2019

When it comes to a band that’s been around since 1975, brushing up the band’s discography can mean a dayslong dive into the past.

But Little River Band, formed in Australia in 1975, has made things a little easier with “The Big Box.”

The box set, which was released in 2017 with five CDs and one DVD, features a majority of the band’s material from the past two decades, plus some of their most popular songs from the ’70s and ’80s.

“Where We Started From,” from 2000, and “Test of Time,” from 2004, are joined by the live album “One Night In Mississippi,” from 2002, and 2006’s “Rearranged,” which, as the title suggests, features new arrangements of Little River Band hits like “Reminiscing,” “The Night Owls” and “Lonesome Loser.”

The box also includes “The Hits - Revisited,” which features even more Little River Band classics including “Take It Easy On Me” and “Cool Change,” and a DVD of the band performing with an orchestra.

Though no original members remain (lead singer/bassist Wayne Nelson has been a member since 1980), Little River Band is still churning out new music.

Its latest collection of new music, “Cuts Like a Diamond,” was released in 2013.
