Dunham, Lowell Make Statement

Kaleigh Dunham netted 6 goals and had 1 assist while leading Lowell past Tewksbury, 19-4, in a Merrimack Valley Conference girls lacrosse game on Friday afternoon in Tewksbury.

High schools

Casey Mitchell made her presence felt on offense for the Red Raiders with 2 goals and 3 assists.

Elizabeth Tighe (1 assist), Abigail Mitchell (1 assist) and Lilly Diamantopolous scored 2 goals each. Sarah Abraham, Julia Sullivan, Nora Funaro, Caetryn Gilreath and Teegan Gilreath potted 1 goal each.

Hannah McAnespie added 2 assists. Isabella Marsden made 5 saves in goal.

Hannah Erickson, Olyvia Cassella, Molly McAnespie, Maura Gillis, Jennifer Paulino, Ella Haley and Sullivan had strong games on defense.

Patrick Ward notched 8 kills and Brendan Walsh had 18 assists for the Grey Ghosts (5-9).

Bishop Guertin 1

Timberlane Regional beat the Cardinals, 22-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-18, in a New Hampshire match.

Joe Noon finished with 14 kills, 3 blocks and 7 digs for BG (6-5).

Erik Wizboski tallied 9 kills, 3 blocks and 11 digs.

Levi Cass was an all-around force for Chelmsford in this MVC match, finishing with 10 kills, 10 digs and 2 blocks.

Kevin Stolki tallied 8 kills, 12 digs and 2 blocks for the Lions.

Becca Smith paced Shawsheen Tech’s offense with 3 hits, including a triple, in this non-league game.

Grace Clark drove in 2 runs. Marissa Brangiforte ripped a triple and was robbed of another of another extra-base hit on an over the head catch while falling down by Bishop Fenwick’s right fielder.

Sandra Watne pitched well for the Rams (4-6), but had to leave the game after taking a line drive off her throwing elbow.

Freshman Meghan Davey pitched a 5-hit shutout with 6 strikeouts for Bishop Guertin.

Emma Charron, Torey Hart, Sky Grenier and Maddie Bowen had 2 hits each for the Cardinals.

Ashley Gibson had 3 hits, including a triple, and 1 RBI while powering Tygnsboro past Oakmont.

Katie Hurynowicz (double), Jayden Kelly (double, 2 RBI) and Paige Connery had 2 hits each for the Tigers.

Amanda Pare went the distance in the circle and recorded 7 strikeouts.
