Solar project near Blythe subject of meeting

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. — The Bureau of Land Management, Palm Springs-South Coast Field Office, will host public meetings on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 26 and 27, for the proposed Desert Quartzite Solar Photovoltaic Project near Blythe.

The meetings take place Sept. 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the UCR Palm Desert Center, Room B200, 75080 Frank Sinatra Dr., Palm Desert; and Sept. 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Blythe City Council Chambers/MPR, 235 N. Broadway, Blythe.

First Solar Development proposes to construct a 450 megawatt solar photovoltaic facility, battery storage and approximately 3-mile single circuit 230 kilovolt generation interconnection transmission line in eastern Riverside County on approximately 3,800 acres of BLM-managed public lands.
