SOUTH CAROLINA BUDGET-VETOES
COLUMBIA — Republican South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster is expected to take $34 million of federal Medicaid money for family planning and abstinence education out of the state budget because a small part of it goes to Planned Parenthood. Critics, including some Republicans, said it is a shortsighted move that will require money be removed from law enforcement or help for parents with children with autism to make up for the budget hole.
