Kids work on some projects during a Carnegie Science Center summer program at Northland Public Library on Thursday, July, 26 2018.

Kids participating in the Carnegie Science Center’s GSK Science in the Summer program at Northland Public Library took on the role of space scientists by performing experiments in astronomy, meteorology, materials science and more.

Activities during the July 26 program included mapping the stars in real life and virtual reality, discovering how science can support astronauts working in space as well as the people living on Earth and learning how the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, or STEM, subjects they study today can help shape their future careers.

GSK Science in the Summer is sponsored by Glaxo Smith Kline, The Franklin Institute and the Carnegie Science Center.
