EXCHANGE-TAVERN TURNED CHURCH
CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. — A closed tavern in Wisconsin that appeared slated for demolition has been given new life as it has reopened as a church. River City Community Church has leased the Chippewa Falls building, moving into the building in August that was known as The Lodge for the past decade. Chris and Jaci Uttecht, co-leaders of the church, said their congregation was founded earlier this year with a group of about 20 meeting in their home. WHITEWATER, Wis. — A University of Wisconsin-Whitewater official is being recognized for his advocacy work for LGBTQ students. Brent Bilodeau is a driving force on campus to make all students feel welcome, safe and included. This month, he received the Dr. P.B. Poorman Award for work to improve the lives of LGBTQ students.
