IBM opens computer rescue operation in NC
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — IBM has formally announced that a computer rescue operation has opened in Research Triangle Park.
Multiple media outlets reported the North Carolina location is the company’s largest facility of its type in the United States.
Mike Errity with IBM said Monday that the new center is designed to recover data within minutes. He says the facility will protect businesses from disruptions that can be very costly.
IBM says the “cloud resiliency center” can provide computer system disaster recovery efforts that are individually tailored to its corporate customers.
The center began operations in July. IBM would not say how many people are involved in the operation.
But IBM employees thousands of people in its various operations at Research Triangle Park.
