Santa will light the giant Christmas tree at North Hills in Raleigh during a special event from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Nov. 17. Families also can sit for pictures with him. Santa typically returns to North Hills for a few afternoons for more meet and greets. Stay tuned.

Santa begins sitting for selfies at Northgate Mall on Dec. 1. The mall’s kiddie train, called the Northgate Polar Express, also will open up for rides. The rides and Santa visits continue through Dec. 24. Selfies with Santa are $5. Rides on the train are $3.

The big guy is not on the schedule at University Place. But you could have Breakfast with Santa at the Carolina Inn. Tickets are $35. They begin Dec. 8 and continue on select days through Dec. 24.

Just like Bass Pro Shop, the Cabela’s in Garner also will offer free photos with Santa from Nov. 10 to Dec. 24, along with games and crafts for families.
