Merry and bright: Christmas will be cold with plenty of sunshine
Temperatures will be in the mid 50s for Sunday afternoon ahead of a bright, cooler Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
According to WRAL meteorologist Kat Campbell, the last days leading up to Christmas should be dry and free of rain.
There is a 20 percent chance for a sprinkle or shower late Sunday afternoon and into the evening, but skies will be clear for Christmas Eve. If you’re headed to work Monday, expect a clear, cool commute. Rain should not be an issue throughout the day or for Christmas Eve outings, but you’ll want to bundle up.
Campbell said the high will hover right around 50 degrees for Tuesday, and skies will be partly cloudy. It should be a brisk, beautiful Christmas to be outside.
