Tewksbury Man Killed in Saugus Rollover
SAUGUS -- A 47-year-old Tewksbury man was killed following a single-vehicle rollover crash on Main Street about 11 a.m. Tuesday, authorities say.
First responders were forced to use hydraulic tools to extricate the unidentified man from the Dodge Ram pickup truck following the wreck, according to a press release issued by John Guilfoil, a spokesperson for the Saugus Police Department.
The man was rushed by ambulance to an area hospital where he later died, the release states. He was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.
The crash happened in the area of 407 Main St. in Saugus, the release states. The road was closed following the wreck and the flow of traffic in the area remained limited Tuesday afternoon.
The crash is under investigation by the Saugus Police Department, along with the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
