CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) _ LaQuanda Barksdale scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead No. 11 North Carolina to a 74-55 victory over Georgia Southern on Tuesday night.
Nikki Teasley added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Tar Heels.
Barksdale scored 17 points in the first half as North Carolina took a 37-25 halftime lead, and the Tar Heels (6-2) led by at least 10 points the rest of the way.
Tondra Warren (1-5) led Georgia Southern with 19 points and eight rebounds.
Barksdale went 13-of-22 from the field and 5-of-6 from the foul line. Her rebounding helped North Carolina dominated the boards 50-38.
Down 20-12, Georgia Southern rallied to tie the game at 22. The Eagles trailed by only one point with 4:36 left in the first half, but Barksdale then scored six points during a 13-2 run that put North Carolina in control.
Teasley hit four 3-pointers in the second half to help the Tar Heels extend their lead.
