Nebraska defeated Troy 56-0 on Sept. 23, 2006 in Lincoln, Neb.
KEEP AN EYE ON...
Preseason hopes for Barry to break out as a playmaker began to be realized in last week’s loss to Colorado when the junior from Atlanta led Nebraska with 12 total tackles, four solo and eight assisted, and a six-yard tackle for loss.
Outside Khalil Davis and the rest of the defensive line continually wreaking havoc up front, Barry was the most noticeable player on the field.
For linebacking coach Barrett Ruud, and defensive coordinator Erik Chinander, balancing a crowded and talented corps of players at the position meant finding the best inside linebacker candidate who possessed the ability to move and move quickly in what was advertised, and has so far been, an aggressive, attacking defense.
If Barry continues to shine on Saturdays, and more is learned of his personal story, he’s likely to quickly become a fan favorite.
