Feds: NYC school worker busted in sting seeking underage sex
NEW YORK (AP) — A man who works at a New York City elementary school has been arrested on charges alleging he wanted to have sex with a person he believed to be a 14-year-old boy.
Federal prosecutors say 41-year-old Jason Seto was taken into custody at LaGuardia Airport on Thursday as he went to meet the boy, who turned out to be an undercover police detective.
Prosecutors say the detective had been posing as a 14-year-old boy in an online dating app as part of a sting operation when Seto connected with him Aug. 21 and started sending lewd text messages.
Seto was arraigned Friday on a federal coercion and enticement charge. He was ordered jailed pending a bail hearing next week.
A message was left with his lawyer.
