FBI, IRS searching dog training business on San Antonio’s Northwest Side

August 8, 2018

State and federal authorities were serving a search warrant Wednesday morning at a dog training business on the Northwest Side as part of a federal investigation.

The FBI, Texas Department of Public Safety and agents with the Internal Revenue Service’s Criminal Investigation division were at Universal K Nine, 15329 Tradesman, near Loop 1604. The San Antonio Police Department was assisting.

Three Animal Care Services trucks were on the scene, possibly to impound any dogs that might be in the building. The business is listed as a private foundation with some connection to military veterans and law enforcement.

The search warrant was signed by a federal magistrate this week, but is sealed, records show.

“We are lawfully present conducting a law enforcement activity,” said special agent Michelle Lee, spokeswoman for the FBI in San Antonio.

She said no one has been taken into custody, and she does not anticipate any official updates Wednesday.
