Rocker police officer pleads guilty in NY fraud
NEW YORK (AP) — A Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police officer accused of collecting disability for an arm injury while performing in a metal band called Cousin Sleaze has pleaded guilty.
Christopher Inserra entered the plea to one count of fraud on Tuesday in federal court in Brooklyn.
Inserra had reported injuring his right arm in 2010 while on duty at the World Trade Center. He collected more than $31,000 in disability for the next two years.
Video from that period shows him on tour as the lead singer for Cousin Sleaze. A criminal complaint says he could be seen pumping his fists and thrashing around on stage.
