Time to ring in a new year

It’s time to say goodbye to 2018 and welcome a new year for 2019.

Don’t worry – there are plenty of events to choose from in this area to help you ring in the new and usher out the old.

The MCM Eleganté Hotel, 5200 E. University Blvd., has scheduled the following events on Dec. 31.

5 p.m. to 10 p.m.: New Year’s Eve Buffet at The Shrimp Boat. Menu includes herb crusted prime rib, chicken cordon bleu, cod almondine, salmon mango chutney, peel-n-eat shrimp, fried shrimp, crab cakes, pineapple grilled pork chops and more. Cost is $24.99 for adults, $19.99 for seniors, $9.99 for children age 16 and up, and free for children age 15 and under.5 p.m. to 2 a.m.: New Year’s Eve party at the Oasis Bar & Grill. There will be music and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. Spin the wheel for shot specials all night. Admission is $10.
